This scheme involved the conversion of an existing school hall into a new theatre complete with control room, dance studio, foyer, WCs and an extension that doubles as classrooms and changing rooms.
SPECIFIC ELEMENTS OF THE BUILD
Creating this modern day theatre during school term time necessitated extra safety procedures particularly as the build involved high level gantry and lighting.
Gallower Build stripped all internal walls of the existing building retaining the external walls only. Then we installed a large steel framework to give lateral stability to the existing external walls which formed part of the high level gantry system. This, in turn, gave high level viewing and support for the stage lighting. During this extensive build programme, the school continued to function as normal.
This is what our client, Mick Wray, has to say about working with Galower Build:
“We have worked with Galower on a number of projects over the last few years, and have returned to them time and again as we are assured of a positive attitude towards any project, with a virtual certainty of meeting the deadlines and completion dates. Nothing is too much trouble, and all of their staff without exception maintain the same ethos as the partners, ie to get the job done to the highest standard of workmanship, on time and with the least possible aggravation along the way. This is quite rare in an industry known for its belligerence and contractual approach to arising problems. We shall be working with them again whenever we can.”
